Dans une salle où se dresse une grande table, le couvert est mis mais le lieu est désert, dépeuplé. Sur le plateau, plusieurs temporalités d’un dîner cohabitent, parasitées progressivement par une pellicule de sel et de cendres jusqu’à n’en laisser que l’empreinte. Dans ce lieu pourtant figé, archéologique, il y a encore du vivant, du temps qui s’écoule et des histoires qui se racontent. Des corps et des voix font irruption, incarnés dans un présent tangible, factuel comme les témoins d’un passé immédiat.
Avec l’installation Tout le monde danse, Charlotte Hermant et Guillemette Ridet élaborent un territoire poétique et fictionnel, un espace de mémoire, de métamorphose et de projection. Il s’agit de déplacer le regard, de révéler les failles, les seuils, les glissements du réel. Leur création commune lie deux pratiques : une approche plastique centrée sur la mémoire, la latence, et une exploration de l’espace comme lieu d’étrangeté quotidienne. Ce dialogue nourrit une forme hybride, née de l’interstice entre leurs disciplines.

Posant un regard analytique sur l’espace du vide et du quelconque, l’installation s’ancre dans une archéologie du normal. Il y est question d’événements de l’ordinaire, de vécu et de solitude commune. Le temps lui-même devient un médium pour parler du temps à travers la lenteur que nécessite le processus de cristallisation. Le public, transformé en convive de cette table grinçante, devient témoin de ce temps qui se propage.

Chimère du banal et de l’extraordinaire, Tout le monde danse s’articule autour des notions de latence (qui existe sans apparaître encore, sans se manifester extérieurement), rémanence (persistance partielle d’un phénomène après disparition de la cause qui l’a provoqué) et potentiel (qui existe en puissance, qui pourrait se manifester). Cherchant à raconter un souvenir, à figer ce qui n’existe plus, comme pour le préserver vainement de l’oubli, les deux artistes nous offrent de regarder autrement le passage du temps et l’érosion de la mémoire.

In a room dominated by a large table, the table is laid but the space is deserted, devoid of people. On the table, several moments in time from a dinner coexist, gradually obscured by a layer of salt and ash until only their imprint remains. Yet in this frozen, archaeological space, there is still life, time passing and stories being told. Bodies and voices burst in, embodied in a tangible, factual present, like witnesses to an immediate past.
With the installation Tout le monde danse, Charlotte Hermant and Guillemette Ridet create a poetic and fictional territory, a space of memory, metamorphosis and projection. The aim is to shift the gaze, to reveal the fissures, thresholds and shifts in reality. Their joint creation links two practices: a visual approach centred on memory and latency, and an exploration of space as a place of everyday strangeness. This dialogue gives rise to a hybrid form, born of the interstice between their disciplines.
Taking an analytical look at the space of emptiness and the ordinary, the installation is rooted in an archaeology of the normal. It explores everyday occurrences, lived experience and a shared sense of solitude. Time itself becomes a medium for speaking about time through the slowness required by the crystallisation process. The audience, transformed into guests at this creaking table, becomes a witness to this time as it unfolds.
A chimera of the banal and the extraordinary, Tout le monde danse revolves around the notions of latency (that which exists without yet appearing, without manifesting itself externally), persistence (the partial lingering of a phenomenon after the disappearance of the cause that brought it about) and potential (that which exists in potential, which could manifest itself). Seeking to recount a memory, to freeze what no longer exists, as if to preserve it in vain from oblivion, the two artists invite us to view the passage of time and the erosion of memory in a different light.

Si ça vibre entame une réflexion autour de la notion de lecture à voix haute, plus exactement du texte porté par la voix.
«L’important [...] c’est que la lecture fasse appel à l’ensemble de ses composantes – c’est-à-dire un lecteur, un auditoire et un livre [...] 1». 
Le lecteur, “présent” par la voix enregistrée, s’incarne en filigrane d’un corpus d’images rejouant la gestuelle de lecture publique.&#38;nbsp;Le livre existe dans la structure elle-même : un ensemble de pages reliées entre elles par une tige filetée. Les scans de double-pages – notes de lecture produisant un sous-texte réflexif à l’intérieur de l’installation – rendent à l’objet sa forme usuelle. 

Il y a dans cet espace quelque chose de la cabane en draps que l’on construit enfant, espace sécuritaire de projection pour écouter lire. Par analogie des vibrations de la voix déplaçant le texte lu jusqu’aux oreilles de l’auditeur, les déplacements d’air dans l’espace font vibrer les “pages”, activant le dispositif, unité spatio-temporelle aux limites floues.

Si ça vibre is an research around the notion of reading aloud, or more precisely, of the text carried by the voice.
«The important thing [...] is that the reading involves all its components - a reader, an audience and a book [...] 1».
The reader, “present” through the recorded voice, is embodied in a corpus of images re-enacting the gestures of public reading. The book exists in the structure itself : a set of pages linked together by a threaded rod. Some scans of &#38;nbsp;double pages - reading notes that produce a reflexive subtext within the installation - return the object to its usual form. 

By analogy with the vibrations of the voice moving the text read to the listener's ears, the air movements in the space make the "pages" oscillate, activating the installation, a spatio-temporal unit with blurred boundaries.

Texte, photo, papier collé, tube en acier

Une dégringolade de pages invite les doigts à effleurer le papier. L’espace du texte se déploie en bordure de feuillet tandis la page elle-même devient marge, saut de ligne, interligne, espace de respiration et de seconde lecture. L’empilement de papier révèle une série de photographies en gros plan de livres manipulés. Les fragments de texte photographiés ajoutent une seconde couche narrative à la première.

Il y a dans ces espaces une latence, est pensé comme un poème, une variation autour de la sensibilité du papier et de son rapport au toucher.

A cascade of pages invites the fingers to touch the paper. The page becomes a margin, a space, a line break, a line spacing, while the space of the text extends to the edge of the page. The pile of pages reveals a series of close-up photographs of hands handling books.&#38;nbsp;The photographed text fragments add a second narrative layer to the&#38;nbsp;first one.Il y a dans ces espaces une latence, is thought as a poem, a variation around the paper’s sensitive aspect and its relation to the Touch.

Ils sont là sets up a process of stratification&#38;nbsp;of the page space. The text is displayed in&#38;nbsp;fragments on 16 pages of very thin Japanese&#38;nbsp;paper. The handling becomes careful and the&#38;nbsp;process of memorization that implies the act&#38;nbsp;of reading is exacerbated.

Partant de trois chapitres de l’ouvrage éponyme de Georges Perec, ce dispositif d’écriture-lecture s’articule autour de la notion de pli. 


Les trois chapitres se présentent sous la forme de trois livrets imbriqués les uns dans les autres. Ils peuvent être lu de manière indépendante ou comme un seul texte.La mise en page joue sur la coupure engendrée par le pli pour redistribuer le texte et dégager une nouvelle écriture, une seconde narration au sein de celle de Perec. 


Le système de reliure permet une modularité de l’objet produisant une multitude de lectures possibles tout en laissant accèsà l’écrit d’origine.

Based on three chapters of Georges Perec’s&#38;nbsp;eponymous book, this writing-reading device&#38;nbsp;is articulated around the notion of fold.

The three chapters are presented as three interlocking booklets. They can be read independently or as a single text.
The layout plays on the cut generated by the fold in order to redistribute the text and create a new writing, a second narrative within the one written by Perec. The binding system allows for a modularity of the object producing a multitude of possible readings while leaving access to the original writing.

façon fait le récit d’un livre lu entre le 08 février et le 22 mars 2020. 
Il questionne les rapports de temporalités et d’espaces qu’engage l’acte de lire. Les « signets » dispersés dans le volume permettent une traduction visuelle de chaque session de lecture et deviennent des espaces narratifs qui relatent le contexte de celles-ci. 
Du livre initial, ne subsistent que la première et quatrième de couverture affleurant sous le papier, le marque-page de la librairie dans laquelle l’ouvrage a été acheté et quelques mots égrainés dans un bloc blanc, marqueurs témoignant de chaque interruption de lecture.

façon tells the story of a book read between February 08 and March&#38;nbsp;22, 2020.
It questions the relationships of temporalities and spaces&#38;nbsp;during a reading. The bookmarks dispersed throughout the volume&#38;nbsp;allow the visual translation of a precise reading time but also become&#38;nbsp;the narrative spaces that content the context of a reading.&#38;nbsp;

From the initial book, only a few words remain in a white block, markers witnessing each reading interruption, the first and fourth cover outcropping underneath the paper and the bookmark of the bookshop where the book was bought.

L’enjeu de ce projet est de rassembler un ensemble de références bibliographiques dans un seul objet, qui peut être étendu, réorganisé à volonté, utilisé comme un livre ou étalé sur une table de recherche.

Based on a corpus of titles from my &#38;nbsp;working library, the Bibliothèque project opens a&#38;nbsp;reflection on the networking of books and&#38;nbsp;their classification.


The issue is to gather a set of bibliographic&#38;nbsp;references in a single object, which can be&#38;nbsp;expanded, rearranged at will, used as a book&#38;nbsp;or spread out on a research table.
